Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa (3,650)

Lhasa Tour With Popular Cities starts after arrival in Lhasa where you meet our representative who drives you at the hotel in Lhasa. Acclimatize at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Lhasa Sightseeing

Today we visit the famous place of Lhasa like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. The Potala Palace is located on the Red Hill by the side of the Lhasa River. It is a treasure house where you can see precious arts and learn Tibetan culture and history. Climbing the steps up to the top, you can see the great views of Lhasa city as well as beautiful plateau landscape far away. On other hand Jokhang Temple houses Tibet’s most religious relics, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Later we make round of Barkhor Street and observe the artifacts displayed over the street. The Barkhor Street surrounds the Jokhang Temple.

Day 03: Lhasa Excursion

Today we visit Drepung Monastery which lies 8 km west of Lhasa and is largest Monastery in the Tibet that occupies over 10,000 of Monks. The ground of Monastery is organized on the caves and temples for Jamyang Qoigyi, together with two magnificent white pagodas. Then we drive for Sera Monastery which is situated 5 km north to Lhasa. The monastery is magnificent and covers an area of 114,946 square meters (28 acres). Its main buildings are the Coqen Hall, Zhacang (college) and Kamcun (dormitory). Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Lhasa (3,650m) – Gyantse (4,000m) – Shigatse (3,800m)

Enjoying Lhasa Tour With Popular Cities early in the morning we drive for Gyantse via holy Lake Yamdrok (also called barrier lake since glacier mud-rock flows blocked the river way millions of years ago) and high passes: Kora La (5,010m) & Kamba La (4,794m). After we reach Gyantse we observe the beautiful Pholkor and Kumbum Monastery. In the evening we head towards Shigatse (3,800m) for about one and half hour. The city has the strong cultural heritages, especially in respect of Buddhism. We cover the distance of about 351 kilometers till reaching Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 05: Shigatse (3,800m) – Lhasa (3,650m)

Today in the morning we pay visit to the Panchen Lamals Tashilhumpu Monastery. The old majestic Tashilhunpo Monastery has a magnificent architectural style with a golden roof and impressive buildings. Dozens of monasteries belonging to different sects enhance the atmosphere of Buddhism. Various grand festivals like Buddha Unveiling Festival in the Monasteries each year give people a chance to admire the huge portraits of three Buddha. After the exploration of Monastery we drive back to Lhasa for about 265 kilometers.

Day 06: Departure

Your Lhasa Tour With Popular Cities terminates today so after breakfast drive to the airport and catch the flight to the Kathmandu leaving behind the roof of the world.
